Class Styles & Levels

Class Styles

JAZZ - for adults of all ages. A fun, energetic class set to all your favourite pop and rock hits. “Jazz” is the dance style you regularly see in dance films, film clips, and performances. Each class will include some solid technique training, and then a mid-high energy routine.

(The Beginner class will include foundational technique training, with the Intermediate level class advancing further in difficulty. Intermediate dancers are welcome to take the Beginner class, using it as a chance to revisit/refine foundational technique.)

JAZZ-FUNK - similar to Jazz, but with a grungier, funkier style of movement. Edging closer towards a Hip Hop style of dancing. Movement energy is lower in the body and more directed towards the ground.

JAZZ/JAZZ-FUNK - a class that provides a mix of Jazz and Jazz -Funk routines.

JAZZ/JAZZ-FUNK [90s & 00s]- the same as the Jazz/Jazz-Funk class, but with all routines being to songs from the 1990s & 2000s.

CLASSIC MOVERS - A Jazz class specifically for Over 50s (or those close to 50 who prefer a slower class speed). A medium-paced class set to songs primarily from the 60s & 70s, with modification options given.

CONTEMPORARY/LYRICAL - a combination of contemporary and lyrical, where long lines and big emotions reign. Set to pop ballads, this class is focuses on expansive movement, storytelling, levels, and physical exploration.

BROADWAY JAZZ - the style seen in musical theatre productions where big movements, stage presence, and theatrical story-telling reign.

SASSY JAZZ - A little bit sweet, a little bit sassy, and a whole lot of fun. A *ladies only* class for women who want to explore their femininity and sensuality, without the need to put an "MA" viewer warning on their moves. Suited to dancers who have a good base level of jazz technique.

AFTER DARK - a Jazz-Funk class with a party class feel. Think R&B, chair dances, and all the "too cool for school" moves.
